Please take time to read our DNA Policy - this explains what action we will take where patients fail to attend an appointment, or have cancelled it so late that we have been unable to use it for another patient.

Text Message Reminders

We now find that Text Messages can often be the best and most effective method of contacting our patients

mobile phoneYou can now expect to receive information by text message on your phone regarding upcoming appointments one working day prior to the appointment.

We will often also use text messages to get in contact in order to update our details and/or advise you of upcoming clinics or your annual health review if you have a long-term condition.

Appointment reminders by text are an additional service and are dependent upon a number of factors outwith the control of the practice. They they may not be successfully sent or received on all occasions. The responsibility for attending appointments (or cancelling them if no longer needed) still rests with each individual patient.

The text messaging services meets the information governance standards required by NHS Scotland. However, although text messages are generated using a secure facility, they are transmitted over a public network onto a personal telephone and as such may not be secure.

Please contact the practice if you do not wish to be contacted via text message.
